Nana's Custom Quilting

Long-arm quilting is a hand-guided art full of imagination and personality. Each quilt takes an average of one hour to "setup" on the machine table. Please insure that your quilt top and backing have been squared. Long-arm quilting will not "fix" misaligned work or uneven borders that can cause your quilt to have puckers or tucks when quilted.

Prices charged are based on the size of the quilt and the complexity of design to be quilted. Pricing at .015 (1 ½ cents) per square inch up to .08 per square inch. There is a minimum charge of $40.00. (Basting service for hand quilters has a $25.00 minimum) To estimate quilting charges, simply find the area of the quilt by multiplying width by length. Now multiply that total by the amount of the design you want. 80 x 80 = 6400 x .02 cents per square inch = $128.00

Simple Meandering & Simple Overall Designs: .015 (1 ½ cents per sq. inch).
This covers less complex patterns and large-scale meander patterns. Hearts and loops, simple starts, and leaves.

Complex and Tighter Border to Border: .02 per sq. inch.

Custom designs or detailed patterns: .03 to .04 per sq. inch.
Echo quilting, feathers, wreaths, sashing, border treatments, or block designs.

Heirloom: .05 to .07 per sq. inch.
A more dense high detailed quilting. Heavy quilting. Various methods can be used to achieve the heirloom look; block motifs, crosshatch, etc.

Stitch In the Ditch: .06 cents per sq. inch.
Stitching in the seam lines round blocks or borders.

Stippling: .08 per sq. inch.
Small, very small meanders, all done free style to make an appliqué or pattern "pop" / stand-out.

Basting: .0005 (1/2 cent per square inch)
Service for hand quilting customers. $25.00 minimum charge.

Batting: Provide your own batting or purchase from me. I find that certain brands and types of batting work best and produce the best product. Please call and check with me before deciding on your batting.

Hobbs Heirloom (80/20) cotton/poly blend in white @ $6.50 per yard.

Quilter's Dream 100% cotton and assorted blends are available in various colors and sizes such as queen and king. Call for price and availability.

Threads: I use only high-quality threads for quilting. Cotton, cotton-wrapped poly, variegated and metallic in beautiful colors! There is a charge of $1.00 per bobbin. Variegated thread is $1.50 per bobbin. Two or more colors per quilt is an additional $1.00 per color. Specialty threads, glow-thread, or metallics are a minimum of $12.00 - $18.00 per quilt.

Binding: 0.10 - 0.25 (10 or 25 cents per linear inch)
0.10 per linear inch - machine attach binding to the front.
0.25 per linear inch - machine attach to front and hand stitch to the back.
(Extra charge of $20 to prepare binding for attachment)
